Workshop 1 Cross-Cultural identities, language and values
Cross cultural identities have to do with networking across borders and opening up to new forms of interactions with others. Civil society has seen the creation of not only NGOs as a different source of information, but also has seen new forms of collaboration coming into existence. The real impact of European integration can be traced by following these developments. Experts like Jesse Marsh, European project advisor in Palermo or Thanos Contargyris, Manager of Dialogos, have already applied a logic of networking and developed theories to advance collaborative work. They have sought ways to make innovative capacities of SMEs and of even street markets be become a part of an overall strategy of cultural adoptation to Europe's new markets. Europe is not just one market when perceived in cultural terms. It has implications for both the identification process of European citizens and what defines immigrants, strangers or newcomers to this Europe in the making.
