Introduction
Reflections about recent ECoC experiences and the EU Commission's public consultation about the future of ECoC beyond 2020: Hatto Fischer
Questions derived from a notion about a 'Culture of Sustainability': Oleg Koefoed
“The idea that I have been nudging, of setting up a transversal, transdisciplinary and transcultural action-research/action-philosophical project around how the ECoC cities handle the whole issue of sustainability, how they understand the issue and its challenges, how they manage it into their bids (before becoming official ECoC cities), into their plans, and into their development and unfolding of networks, empowerment, inclusion, economy, political choices, connections, environmental actions, incorporations of complexity, etc. (or, of course, the negative of any of those examples); and how the issue continues (or ceases) to play a role for the city after the ECoC year. Many other questions or angles may turn up, some more theoretical, some closer to strategy, some drawing very closely on experiences, and others more on visions. “ - Oleg Koefoed April 5, 2011
