Outside view of German poetry
The precise description the exact denomination the particularized evocation is not just a trope not just myth but the starting point of all mythologies. And yet mythologizing is not generalization. For generalization effaces planes out, covers up what is in fact mottled, textured, or coarse fissured and creviced and creased. Intimately what evokes the personalized special the startling distinct is what starts it all-- the audacious ride the dipping, soaring, hurtling flight the aimless meander into imagination's unsettled into fancy's inadvertencies. Poetry like all art and all science inveigles and misleads unlike only in its awareness of its deception-- which it takes good care to conceal-- reflecting paradoxically the fiery, glacial, rocky, molten, incandescent, pitch-dark, electro-gravitational universe and its dimensions within a mere particle of a word meandering past the generalization to a caveat distinct and decisive.
