The experiences of the Workshop: artistic responses
The artistic group
Moderation: Haroula Hadjinicolao
Alexandra Zanne: Screening of the action, working close to the ground, almost invisible and constantly observing what traces the participants would leave behind. This includes the rubbish they left in the bus once they disembarked - a silent coment about environmental consciousness and limitations thereof.
Nikos Kasseris: His photography identified with his photos the issues Rhodes faces and came the closest to outlining an agenda for future actions on Rhodes.
Boudewijn Payens: His compositions have shown what communication can mean when involving children e.g. taking a long rope and then letting the children create shapes without saying something 'verbally' to each other. His final action with ice was a good metaphor for the relationship created amongst the participants but also what perishable ice can stand for as a questionable sustainability if allowed to melt and then leave but bare traces on the steeps.
Phivos-Angelos: His composition of natural sounds into forms of music created with the help of computer based systems another art of listening
Insa Winkler: environmental art
Iakovos Xenakis: visual art
This session was followed by an action with 'ice' conceived by Boudewijn Payens.
