Ποιειν Και Πραττειν - create and do

Lisbon

The Bugio Fortress has since its construction (late 16th century) been the highest point of the triable of fortifications which defended Lisbon and the bar of the river Tagus. The Bugio, which is located on a small island, marks the point of departure and arrival of the vessels which for centuries brought to and transported from Lisbon not only produce but also the signs of a culture which the 5th of May will celebrate in a truly European and modern fashion: freedom and dialogue.

This is the symbolic location, now meticulously renovated, where the Mayor of Lisbon will deliver his message to the cities of Europe which have joined in this celebration of the 5th of May - a day for Culture, Freedom of Expression and Dialogue.
