[ Describe these competences and indicate where they were acquired. ] Born in Germany, but immigrated at the age of twelve to Ottawa, Canada where I worked as children counselor at Camp Tawingo during the summer; also host at the Canadian Pavilion of EXPO '67 in Montreal, Canada; while studying in London, created with others an intellectual group wishing to link Sigmund Freud with the philosophy of Bertrand Russell to create a new educational concept; upon returning to Germany in 1971, gathered experiences in Psychiatry (Munich 1971, Heidelberg 1972-74, and Hamburg 1976) and during further work in a neurological intensive care station in Berlin 1981-85; while teaching at Free University of Berlin took students on trips to Poland and organized for four years after declaration of Martial Plan in Poland 1981-85 medical and food transports to Poland and at home, in the own flat, a Flying University with every Friday someone giving a lecture which was followed by discussions. As member of the board of Bildungswerk for democracy and environmental protection – an institute for political education linked to the Alternative Liste in Berlin and pre-runner of the Heinrich Böll Foundation and the Greens – organized workshops and lectures on a variety of topics, including student movement, Peter Weiss, and East Germany as the other reality. Once I had moved to Athens, Greece in 1988 started to organize art exhibitions at South Eastern College and later Flying University types of workshops at LaVerne, 1991-94. |
