Mission Statement

POIEIN kai PRATTEIN aims to bring together 'creativity' and 'productivity' to promote 'human self-awareness' based on empathy, imagination and human dignity.

As a non profit organisations, it seeks to uphold an independent source of knowledge about the various fields in which policies by political authorities are being applied, and this especially in the cultural, urban and environmental fields.

By following debates about current state of affairs, focus shall be in particular on the European Union, European Capitals of Culture, and actions undertaken by various political authorities at local, regional, European and international levels.

For this purpose, a variety of approaches (analytical, intuitive, cultural) are used, in order to high light policy issues faced by citizens and political authorities at all levels.

Poiein kai Prattein seeks to engage citizens of all walks of life, with special focus upon children and youth as future generations in need of cultural orientation.

In so doing, Poiein kai Prattein wishes to promote civic values through Good Practice in the arts, philosophy and knowledge gained through research, debates and applications in practical policy fields. In particular, priorities have urban and cultural planning while aiming to promote such cultural actions which can become community wide actions.

Since governance of civil society should be based on the equality of gender, human dignity and participation a key objective of Poiein kai Prattein is to make possible democratic decision making processes.

Priorities of POIEIN KAI PRATTEIN

 

POIEIN KAI PRATTEIN prepares and implements European projects in collaboration with Local Authorities, NGOs, SMEs, Institutions, Universities and other international bodies.

Poiein Kai Prattein coordinates Guernica Youth to let children and youth enter a collaborative learning process when painting jointly peace murals on a canvas which has the same size as Picasso's Guernica, namely 7,8 x 3,5 m.

To promote artists all sorts of support work is being done, from financial and cultural management to publication on the website of Poiein kai Prattein.

It maintains a special archive of European Capitals of Culture from 1985 to the present.

As a non-profit making representative body POIEIN KAI PRATTEIN declares:

Good Practice is based on the symmetry of gender, equality and participation to make possible a civil life based on non violence, equal opportunities, transparency and accountability.
