Dear Hatto,

So you have become a poet. I am very pleased and enjoyed reading your poem. Of course, as in all forms of art, the whole idea is to stay more with less, to know when to stop. Each addition, each word, each stroke of the brush, each mark of the chissel may enhance the work or cause it's downfall. And that my friend is the secret. Welcome to the club. I am eagerly awaiting your first book of poems.

I shall be leaving Israel for Germany on the 20th of June and my exhibition will open on the 28th. I am taking over 30 pieces of sculpture and about 20 sketches. I shan't be able to visit you on the way as I hoped. Ludwig is sending me a ticket with Lufthansa direct to Frankfurt. So some other time.

The sculpture symposium I told you about was a great success and good fun. I did 3 big pieces (Spetses style). They stand on a lawn in the middle of the town. I was surprises to see how this simple carving also works on a monumental scale.

Today is such a hot day that I decided to stay home with the airconditioner and write a few overdue letters.

Last night our daughter in law gave birth to a little baby boy so Rutie and I are going to Haifa to meet the new addition (our fifth grandchild).

Give my love to the girls,

              keep well,

                              David
