Ποιειν Και Πραττειν - create and do

Dance installation and discussions

Ingrid Kristensen organises in addition to dance performances as well work shop like discussions about dance installations and performances. This is an essential part of her all encompassing research process e.g. working together with architects and construction companies wishing to give cement a slimmer line, something inspired from the figure of dance and thus shows how innovation can be introduced by dancers and companies working together. What is usually called 'cultural and creative industries' and promoted by the EU Commission after having picked up the argument that culture does create jobs and contributes towards wealth creation in the economy, her work illustrate in effect what is implied by this. Already during the Fifth Seminar, Cultural Actions for Europe, this relationship between artists and companies was discussed. Culture achieves innovation once people are ready to try out new ideas and adapt them in such a novel way that their solutions are convincing because simple and hence self convincing.

The dance installation

a discussion and performance day on 13th of October 2011

Sans & Dans

Tredje innovationsrådsmøde

On the day we’ll show the dance installation – „El Eco del Carlito“, which is a part of the artistic research-project Sense & Dance’s sense of sight research.

Morten Lervig from CAVI (University of Aarhus) who’s contributed with

the technical support for the installation will participate on the day. Fuzzy – the composer of the music for the installation will also be present. Also the dancer – Anna Kinoshita who’s the body of many of the video projections will be there.

In that way the day offers both a digital and a live sensing experience.

The tour: El Eco del Carlito will be shown at Fyns Art museum until January 9th 2012. We’re working on getting a tour organised for Denmark and abroad for the following years.

„El Eco del Carlito“ will also be a part of our next big project: „The Cathedral of Dance.“

Programme for the day

The first part of the day is open for the public:

It will include a presentation of the dance installation „El Eco del Carlito.“

and a presentation of the project from an artistic, technological and 'sense' perspective.

This shall be followed by a dialogue regarding the installations perspectives and potential and discussion of the audience’s experience of it.

Meeting in Berlin

To discuss a possible collaboration, Ingrid Kristensen and her husband Anders came especially to Berlin to meet. Since December 2010 we had not seen each other but had stay in touch communication wise with Ingrid learning to improve in the meantime her English. Having a Spanish background but living in Denmark, it is a remarkable mixture of cultural influences and impetus to leave a dedicated mark as far as dance is concerned.
