Ποιειν Και Πραττειν - create and do

Painting the mural in Tripoli 2014

On Monday August 20, 2014

Thanks to the support of Cross Arts Association, we started our action in Tripoli, Lebanon; an action that we have been waiting for so long.

The KGGY project was initiated in the memory of the 1st year anniversary of the bombing of the 2 mosques in Tripoli.

A group of youth gathered in the "Rabta Thakafiya" in Tripoli, to be introduced to the project. Full of motivation and enthusiasm, they started to make sketches on A4 papers to express their ideas.

Tuesday August 21, 2014

The youth started to draw on the canvas.

The interesting thing is that they were all avoiding clear ideas and looking for symbols to reflect their thoughts.

3 kids participated as well in the painting.

The idea was to integrate a childish touch with innocent thoughts to the painting.

They worked as a team not as individuals; they shared their ideas and helped each other in order to create a unified painting.

The outcome was a combination of symbolism, deep meaning and imagination.

The outcome was a great work of art that not only reflected ideas about war and peace, but also showed the touches of futuristic great artists.

Thursday August 28, 2014

By Thursday the painting was finished and exhibited in the hall on Friday August 29, 2014. The showing of the mural in public for the first time was followed by a small celebration.
